So today the teaser trailer for The Hunger Games: MockingJay part 2 came out and I thought I’d share my opinions on it (Click here to see the trailer).
I don’t really know what I think about it… to be honest, I do love the Hunger Games series but in my personal opinion, I find some of the lines really cheesy. Yes, I understand I’m being hypocritical because obviously some of my favourite quotes from books and movies are always *see what I did there?* extremely cheesy. However I just find them not that riveting in this series. Don’t get me wrong, yes I will go to see the movie and yes I will LOVE it, but I just think that the way the trailer has been done has made it really cheesy and appealing to a cliché audience.
On the good side though, I do really love all the video edits and fast transitions because I feel that it really incorporates the whole feel and emotion behind this movie series.
Right that’s all from me. Click the link above if you want to view the trailer and obviously let me know your opinions in comments!

So as many of you will know, I have been posting for 2 and a half years. In that time, my posts have been very strict to books and book reviews and news in the book world. This fact was emphasized even in the title of my blog ‘Spikes Books’. Recently, I have been thinking about writing with more varied topics such as makeup, clothes, hairstyles, my thoughts on recent events and so on. I love nail art and creating new hairstyles as well and I was trying to think of a way to share that with you guys without having to create another blog. So, if this change goes ahead, I would be posting things for a wider audience range such as new movie releases, high-street makeup, clothing hauls etc. I would love to know what you guys think about this change and even some possibly new blog names that encompass a wider topic. Let me know in comments and I’ll talk to you guys soon!

So yesterday I went on a half day shopping trip with my best friend and one of the things we did to top of the day was to watch the TFIOS movie which came out last Thursday. This review may contain spoilers so if you have not watched the movie or read the book yet, do not read the review.
This isn’t so much a review as a massive discussion about how AWESOME this movie was! So you started off with a brief about 5 minute overview of Hazel’s life without certain details. All the details come into play later on in the movie however. As a lot of you who have read the book will know, there is a lot of texting that goes on between Hazel and Augustus. In the film, the texts were shown in little speech bubbles in the spare space. I found this amazingly clever as it added a personal touch to the film. As in all book based films, some of the parts were missed out. This was barely noticeable unless you had read the book numerous amounts of times and knew it almost by heart. However there was one particular scene that was missed out which contained a quote. This quote was My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations, yet even with this scene skipped, it didn’t make too much of a difference. The gas station scene was so touching and as soon as it started I knew exactly where we were in the story. Well done to Ansel for perfectly performing this scene. From this point onward for the rest of the film, I could hear the whole cinema sobbing. To counter that point, from the beginning the whole audience was laughing at the funny bits and crying at the sad bits. A final note just to say thank you to the staff at the cinema for handing out tissues at the end of the film. #TFIOS
A great film for a great book. Well done John Green!
DFTBA and thanks for reading!
